Web Technologies
For a very large and well-known international auditing company, we created service-oriented solutions in the fields of knowledge management within several projects.
Data consolidation: From Notes to J2EE
Utilizing standard technologies such as JAVA, XML, XSL and SOAP, service-oriented architecture was developed. With it, data integration was realized from separate Notes databases to a central Oracle database with a web frontend. Through the standardization of the data structures and efficent transport mechanisms, consistent user information became accessable worldwide.
Ontologies
The Global Taxonomy Service provides company-wide version-controlled standard vocabulary for use in consuming applications (e.g. portals) and by end users. This is a significant milestone in achieving the semantic web.
For this, a tool set was implemented:
- Website for the provision of the information for users
- Repository for OWL (Ontology Web Language) Information
- Transformation service for supporting the data administration process
